Obituary of Betty E. Cobb

Betty E. Cobb, 75, of Clinton Township, Waymart passed away peacefully, after an illness on Monday morning, September 3, 2018 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit in Dunmore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton “Buzz” Cobb.

Born November 8, 1942 in Hancock, New York, she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Eleanor (Nield) Dumond.

Betty was raised in the family home near Starlight, and graduated from Hancock Central High School in 1961. She loved playing cards, doing word searches, and sitting on the porch at home. Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was loved so much by her family and will be always remembered.

She is survived by five children:  Lanson Cobb, Tina Cobb, Laurie Cobb, Joyce Timur, and Donna Zintel; five grandchildren:  Brian Zintel, Trisha Zintel, Danielle Timur, Steph Brooks, and Zack Brooks; two great-grandchildren:  Ethan Rentner and Addie Mae Crum; two sisters:  JoAnn Allen and Gail Allen.

Betty was also preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Dumond; and a sister, Darlene Knapp.

Graveside Funeral Services will be on Friday, September 7 at 11:00 AM at The Waymart Cemetery at Canaan Corners, Owego Turnpike, Waymart with Pastor Wendy D’Agostino officiating.

Viewing will be on Friday morning from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM at the Jenkins-Howell Funeral Home, Inc., Edward Howell, Funeral Director, 269 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA 18472.

Memorial Contributions may be made in Betty’s memory to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William Street, Dunmore, PA.

Special gratitude is extended to Chestnut Hill Senior Unit and Hospice of the Sacred Heart.
