Joyce L. Morcom, 86, of Carbondale died Monday morning, August 29, 2016 at the Carbondale Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis T. Morcom in 1991. Born September 10, 1929 in Waymart, she was the daughter of the late Willis W. and Edna Spangenberg Wayman. Joyce was a seamstress for many years in a dress factory. She was a very loving mother grandmother and great grandmother who devoted her life to her family. She enjoyed the time she shared with each member of the family; no one ever left her home hungry. She will always be remembered and forever missed. She is survived by her son, Jeff Morcom and his wife Eydie, her daughter Mary Shaffer and her husband Mike, all of Waymart; brother, Willis Wayman and his wife Lona; sister-in-laws, Nancy Wayman, Anne Wasman, and Madeline Decker; grandchildren: Michael Tuthill, Michelle Franckowiak, Lisa Morcom, Brian Morcom, and Ricky Cottell; eight great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Tuthill; a sister, Gail Gillow; and a brother, Reggie Wayman. The family wishes extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Carbondale Nursing Home who cared so wonderfully for Joyce. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 9:30 AM at St. Rose of Lima Parish, Carbondale. All attending are asked to go directly to the church.
