Obituary of Gary E. Davis

Gary E. Davis, 59, of Waymart passed away peacefully on Friday evening, December 21, 2018 after an illness at Post Acute Medical Specialty Unit in Wilkes Barre General Hospital.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Cheryl A. (Eldred) Davis.

Born October 27, 1959 in Hancock, New York, he was the son of the late Leland and Alice Mae (Cox) Davis.

Gary graduated from Western Wayne High School.  He was a truck driver for many years.  Gary loved riding motorcycles, camping, and fishing.  He was also a very talented cook.  More than anything, Gary was an amazing friend; he was always there for anyone in need.  He will be greatly missed.

He is also survived by four children:  James Leland Davis and his wife Samantha of Prompton, Frederick Davis, James Clifford Davis of Carbondale, Gary Davis Jr. of Carbondale; two step-children:  Cassandra Heddy and her husband William of Honesdale, and Edward Seber, Jr. and his fiancé Andy Nelson of Beach Lake; five grandchildren:  Alexandra and Zach Heddy, Alice and Dale Davis, and Jonathan Davis; five siblings:  Nancy Krisovitch and her husband Pete, Scott Davis and his wife Debbie, Rich Davis and his wife Amy, and George Jacob and Eric Jacob; and several nieces and nephews.

Gary was also preceded in death by two brothers:  Tom Davis and George Davis; and a sister:  Jeanette Davis.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 2:00 PM in Calvary United Methodist Church, 151 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA 18472 with Pastor Wendy D’Agostino officiating.  Friends and family may visit in the church from 1:00 through the time of service.

Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gary’s memory to his wife, Cheryl Davis, to lend assistance with recent expenses.
