Obituary of Gerald J. Derrick

Gerald J. Derrick, 91, of Clinton Township, Waymart, went home with his Lord on Friday morning December 28, 2018 at home. His beloved wife, Helen V. (Plevyak) Derrick preceded him in death on July 6, 2016.  They were married more than 69 years.

Born March 15, 1927 in Waymart, he was the son of the late Jospeh & Augusta (Smith) Derrick.

Gerald enjoyed his many years on the family farm with Helen and his son Damien.  His trust in God and commitment to his faith was very important to him.  He will be greatly missed.

Gerald is survived by six children: Karen Lopez of Lansdale, PA, Donald Derrick and his wife Pat of Pottstown, PA, Joseph Derrick and his wife Diane of Waymart, with whom Gerald lived, Dave Derrick and his wife Chris of Boyertown, PA, Jane Cohen and her husband Carl of Kansas, and Damien Derrick at home; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; a brother, Robert Derrick and his wife Shirley of Waymart; and a sister, Betty Chadwick.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Michko and her husband Augie.

Memorial Services and interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
