Obituary of Donald T. Haney

Donald T. Haney, 62, of Carbondale passed away on Tuesday night, September 17, 2019 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley after an illness.

Born May 18, 1957 in Carbondale, he was the son of the late Jacob A. & Josephine (Trelc) Haney.

Donny graduated from Forest City Regional High School.  He was a United States veteran and served in the National Guard for several years. Donny was also a member of the American Legion.

Donny is survived by his girlfriend, Lorraine Hickey of Carbondale; three brothers, Joseph Haney of Carbondale, Robert Haney of Waymart, and Raymond Haney of Missouri; and two sisters, Barbara Houman and her husband Todd of Waymart and Lois Haney Batzel of Hamlin; and several nieces and nephews.

On January 13, 1991 Donny’s life changed forever when his two beautiful children, Donny Jr. and Danielle, along with his beloved companion and mother of his children, Sharon Daut died in a tragic housefire in Forest City.

He was also preceded in death by siblings, Ronald Haney, Catherine Dick, Joyce Carachilo, and Edward Davis.

Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, September 30, 2019, in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Forest City, where Donny will be laid to rest with Sharon, Donny Jr. and Danielle.
