Obituary of Thelma R. Stratton

Thelma R. Stratton, 86, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, formerly of Waymart, Pennsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Heritage Healthcare in Alabama. Her husband of nearly 47 years, Maynard Stratton, passed on December 23, 2021. They were married August 10, 1973. Born March 22, 1934 in Waymart, Thelma was the daughter of the late L. Clark and Ruth (Swingle) Beam. Together, Thelma and Maynard enjoyed traveling, square dancing with their friends, bird watching, their flower gardens, and spending memorable moments with their friends and family. She is survived by her children: Janice Snyder and her husband Bill of Gouldsboro, PA, Judy Spewak of Tuscaloosa, AL, Lee Bender of Waymart, PA, Dean Stratton and his wife Theresa of Waymart, PA, Mark Stratton and his wife Cindy of Dayton, OH, Laura Rowland and her husband Ken of Honesdale, PA, and Jay Stratton and his wife Jess of Hawley, PA; 17 grandchildren: Leah Zawisky, Shane Enslin, Kevin Enslin, Billy Snyder, Joshua Snyder, David Spewak, Zachary Spewak, Kirsten Quinn, Cory Stratton, Ryan Stratton, Brandon Stratton, Angelia Floyd, Stephanie Loscig, Nichole Yannone, Brittany Aleckna, and Brandi Stratton, Tyler Pino and several great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Jennie Bellis; and three brothers, Warren, Walter, and Donald Beckwith. A Graveside Service and Eastern Star Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 5:00 PM in the Aldenville Cemetery, 971 Creek Drive, Prompton (Aldenville) PA, 18456. Pastor William Mountain, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in Thelma's memory to your local church.
