Obituary of Kathryn D. Poska
Kathryn Faye Dirlam Poska, 73, of Clinton Township passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love and presence of her family on Wednesday morning, May 19, 2021. Her beloved husband Ronald C. Poska survives her. They were married on June 11, 1982.
Born April 16, 1948 in Scranton, at Moses Taylor Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Mary (Brooks) Dirlam.
Kate was raised in Cherry Ridge on the Ridge Breeze Farm which her family has owned and operated since 1883. She graduated from Honesdale High School in 1966. She went on to study at Delhi College in New York State where she earned an Associate's Degree, and became a Veterinary Technician. Kate was a longtime and well-loved part of the Cherry Ridge Veterinary Clinic family; her career there spanned more than 49 years. She loved her animals and always found joy in caring for them. Her dogs, Moby and Mitzi faithfully remained at her side. Kate lived on a farm her entire life. More than anything, her family meant the most to her. She always wanted her family to be together and to share the common bond of love that she held so dear. Kate looked forward to going for rides around the countryside with her husband, and best friend, Ronnie, which was their favorite Saturday pastime. Kate was a very special lady who was loved and respected, not only by her family, but the entire community. We will all miss her presence, and she will never be forgotten.
She is also survived by two daughters, Rhonda Doyle and her husband John, and Kristyna Poska, all of Clinton Township; two brothers, Lester Dirlam and his wife Joanne of Cherry Ridge, Roger Dirlam and his companion Doris Hook of Beach Lake; her sister, Sharon Dirlam of Cherry Ridge; several nieces and nephews; and her many granddogs.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Russell (Rusty) Dirlam.
