Obituary of Richard E. Kemmann

Richard E. Kemmann, 93, of Clinton Township, Waymart passed away peacefully, after an illness on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Ellen Memorial Healthcare Center in Honesdale. His beloved wife, Hazel (Streeseman) Kemmann preceded him in death. Born June 21, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late John & Helen (Jones) Kemmann. Dick entered the U.S. Navy and proudly served during World War II and the Korean War. During his tenure in the military, he was a radar operator. Following his Honorable Discharge, he began his career in law enforcement serving as a police officer in Lynbrook, New York. In 1970, Dick retired and moved with his family to Clinton Township where he enjoyed more than 50 years in this community. He enjoyed buying and selling antiques and was also fond of working in local real estate. Dick is survived by his son, Donald R. Kemmann of Aldenville; a nephew, Harold Draper; a niece, Lauren Draper; and his long-time companion, Jane Tietjen. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Doris Draper. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial services. Arrangements and cremation are entrusted to Edward R.
