Obituary of Dick Burdick

Richard F. "Dick" Burdick, 91, formerly of Waymart, PA and Zephryhills, FL passed away Saturday morning, November 6, 2021 at home, after an illness. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elsie B. (Rollison) Burdick. Born March 3, 1930 in Wurtsboro, New York, he was the son of the late Franklin and Mabel (Clift) Burdick. Dick moved to Waymart with his family when he was five years old, and was a graduate of Waymart High School. He was an expert carpenter all his life and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing along with being an excellent father and husband. Dick loved to travel and had many memorable experiences. He was well known for his problem solving abilities and his creativity. Among his many talents in carpentry, Dick was best known for building many beautiful kitchens and homes throughout his life. He is survived by five children, Rick Burdick and Chris, Linda Barnett and Dan, Donnie Burdick and Donna, Brenda Tritt and Ken, and Alan Burdick and Dawn; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Ray Burdick, and a sister, Marge Beckwith. Dick was also preceded in death by his son, Roger Burdick, his sister, Doris Beckwith and brother-in-law Don, and his brother and sister-in-law Bob & MaryAn Burdick, and sister-in-law, Arlene. Following cremation, a private Celebration of Life memorial will be scheduled by the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Jenkins-Howell Funeral Home, Inc. Edward R.
