Obituary of Bessie I. Arter
Bessie I. “Dutch” Arter, 89, of Hollisterville, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, December 2, 2021, at home, surrounded by the love of her family, just five days before her 90th birthday.
Born December 7, 1931 in Hughesville, PA she was the daughter of the late LaRue and Edna (Huntsinger) Lore.
Dutch graduated from Hughesville High School in 1949.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Beverly "Jane" Hartman and Deborah ”Lee" Barrett.
She leaves behind her children: Cynthia Whitmoyer, Howard "Bud" Hartman and his wife Bonnie, Benjamin Hartman and his wife Susan and Robin Hartman; brothers: Wayne Lore, Pete Lore and his wife Grace, and Brigg Lore and his wife Janet; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and countless friends and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 5, at 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Hollisterville, 23 Pond Road, Moscow.
Friends and family may visit on Sunday from 2:00 through the time of the service in the church.
Burial will be private in Pine Grove Cemetery, South Sterling.
