Obituary of Anna Gajda
Anna Gajda, 91, of Waymart passed away Christmas morning, December 25, 2021 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, after an illness. Her husband, Stanley Gajda, Sr. preceded her in death.
Born September 6, 1930 in Kirchheimbolanden, Germany she was the daughter of the late Ernst and Anna (Scherer) Koch.
Anna was a member of the German American Club for many years and always looked forward to attending the meetings and functions they planned. She was also a faithful member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Waymart. Anna was an excellent cook and baker and her family always looked forward to her delicious homemade doughnuts and streusel cake. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Anna is survived by five children: Alex Gajda and his wife Patricia of Clifford Twp., Stanley G. Gajda of Waymart, Michael Gajda and his wife Joanie of Curtis Valley, Mark Gajda of Mt. Pleasant Twp., and Christine Altemier of Waymart; Oma to three grandchildren: Jennifer and husband Paul Novak, Alissa Swingle and her husband Richard, and Kristianna Altemier; two great-grandchildren: Cameron and Taylor; two sisters: Lotti Rehn and Gertrude Landefeld both of Germany; many nieces and nephews; and extended family members Debbie and Ted Wilson.
She was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 10:30 AM in Calvary United Methodist Church, 151 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA with Pastor Wendy D’Agostino officiating.
Friends and family may visit on Wednesday from 10-10:30 AM in the church.
Interment will be Wednesday, in The Waymart Cemetery at Canaan Corners, Owego Turnpike, Waymart.
