Aunt Barbara and family, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Uncle Andy was a treasure and I so enjoyed all the times I spent at your home. Whether it was baby-sitting on a Saturday night so you could go with him to play music, or playing the never ending game of monopoly, or just sitting around listening to all the great stories, I will keep these memories close to my heart. May God wrap His loving arms around you and keep you close in comfort. Love you all, Diane

Sending heartfelt sympathy and prayers to Mrs Cavage, Andy, Kathy, Loretta and families. Going back in my memory to the days the Jones boys went to the Cavage home for weekly fiddle lessons, I recall how we looked forward to that time. How generous Andy was with his time and talent. How rewarding it was to have someone like Andy take interest in two boys that truly admired him. The times spent with him were more than just fiddle lessons. They were times of music, laughter, and always stories! When lessons were over we always knew Mrs Cavage would have a kitchen table of goodies waiting for us. Around that table we shared stories, laughs and more stories. Funny stories, like the Hoot and Toots and the beagle that knocked himself out! They'll forever be in my memories. Remembering square dancing to The Rhythm Valley Boys, and that memorable day they handed the reins to the Jones brothers - to take over calling square dances around Wayne County. It was an honor. It was also with much pride that I would gladly say "yes he did" when people would ask, "did Andy Cavage teach you, I hear him in your style". As a boy I looked to him as a mentor and teacher. As an adult I will always remember him as a friend that taught me more than just music. It was my privilege and honor to have known him and his family. I am very thankful God placed him in my life because I'm a better person for that. Donny Jones

Aunt Barbara and all of our family, our love and prayers are with you during this time. It was a privilege to grow up hearing Uncle Andy play his music which he shared so joyfully with everyone. I can recall his beautiful rendition of "The Orange Blossom Special" whenever I want. That is a beautiful gift to leave those of us left behind. May you rest in peace dear uncle.

My condolences to the Cavage family, I remember my brother Donny and I going to Andy and Barb’s house to learn how to play the fiddle they treated us with open arms and treated us like family, we had many great nights practicing tunes over and over. Andy handed over his square dance band to us when the group retired we played many years together. It was an honor to have a great man teach me how to play the fiddle. He will be greatly missed ❤️ We also share the same anniversary day together Sincerely Cliff and Maria Jones

I offer my sincere condolences to Andy's family and friends. There was an event involving Andy in the 1960's which made an impression on me. He and I shared a laugh over it several years ago and he recounted this same story to my sister on his 90th birthday saying, "I'll never forget it!" Here's the story: Andy was our mail carrier. It was almost summertime, and I was about 5 years old. I was sitting on the bottom of the slide waiting to get in the car with Mom. She came out of the house with her purse. Suddenly, Mom's purse opened. The wind was blowing. The bank statement with all the canceled checks fell out of her purse and the checks started blowing away. Andy had just stopped at our mailbox and saw this happen. He jumped out of his vehicle, ran over, and helped gather the checks before they all blew into the neighbor's field. Andy and Mom are probably laughing about this in Heaven right now. Rest in peace, Andy.
