I loved spending time with Janet whenever she would stop by and visit my mom. I was a teenager when she was a young mother, and I would often babysit her wonderful children. I think we bonded a little over both being Janets. She was kind, she was generous, and I will always think that her legacy is the remarkable citizenship she instilled in her children. She taught them about hard work, about giving back to their community, about raising their own children to respect their elders, to make a difference, to be a beacon of light. I am grateful to have known her and humbled by how a life led with good example can create a ripple that swells into crashing waves in perpetuity. Rest well. May God's love comfort this remarkable family.
