Obituary of Dorothy W. Collins

Dorothy W. Collins, 95, of Waymart passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, June 8, 2022 at Wayne Woodlands Manor. Her husband, Ellis Wilbur Collins preceded her in death in 1994. Born October 17, 1926 in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ann (Califut) Williams. Dorothy was a member of the Waymart Presbyterian Church. For many years, she was a seamstress at the Katz Factory in Honesdale. Dorothy was dedicated to her family and was a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed crafts and needlework. Dorothy will be remembered with love by everyone she leaves behind. She is survived by three children: Mark E. Collins of Prompton, Cindy Ann Teada and her husband Chris of Henryville, PA, and James D. Collins of Lake Ariel; five grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Kantor of Camillus, NY, and Sandra Alpha of Elbridge, NY. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her sister, Katherine Burrier; her daughter-in-law, Cathy Collins; and a granddaughter, Amanda Teada. The Funeral Service will be on Saturday, June 11 at 10:00 AM in Waymart Presbyterian Church, 200 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA with Pastor Wendy D’Agostino officiating. Friends may visit on Saturday from 9-10 AM in the church. Interment will be Saturday in The Waymart Cemetery at Canaan Corners. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy’s memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
