Diane Appler posted a condolence

My sincere condolences to your family. Our families were connected as cousins, I met her when I was just a tiny child. This is a sad loss. My heart goes out to Greg and Kathy and the family at this trying time. Diane (Fedorchak) Appler.

Dear Greg, Daria, Lydia and family,
It is with great sadness but fond memories of your dear mother and grandmother, Elizabeth that I send these sincere condolences. My parents, Leon and Maria Martysz, were long-time members of All Saints Russian Orthodox Church in Detroit. My mother sang in the choir along with Elizabeth who had a voice of an angel. I soon joined the soprano section and that's when I became acquainted with Elizabeth. This friendship continued throughout the years even though we resided on opposite sides of the U.S.
Our last meeting was following Liturgy at St. Nicholas in D.C. when Elizabeth (having been alerted of my visit) gave me the attached photo from the day of her wedding in 1947. She is being escorted by her father and attended to by my God Mother, Stelene Mazer--I am the little girl admiring the entire scene.
I hold dear to this photo, Elizabeth's thoughtful gesture of sharing it with me and all the memories I will hold dear in my heart--Eternally!
Memory Eternal!

She was the original Queen Elizabeth… kind, loving, beautiful, smart, with a rascally sense of humor. Her mere presence graced the whole world — lucky, lucky us! Love, hugs, and kisses forever, Mom. ~Misha and Lydia
