Barbara Niedt, 92, of Honesdale, died Friday afternoon, October 7, 2022 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, after an illness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Willy Niedt who died in 2017. Born March 27, 1930 in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. August Kneuher. Barbara was an avid bowler. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Whenever someone needed a button sewed on, she would gladly do it. Barbara was a seamstress for most of her life. Always one to enjoy good humor, she was full of jokes, and loved to make everyone laugh. Her family will miss her dearly and will always treasure the beautiful memories they shared together. She is survived by a daughter: Anita Decker and her husband Chris of Honesdale; and a son: Randy Niedt and his wife Jennifer of Arizona; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandhildren, and a large extended family. She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Hilda Schmitt, and a son: Willy Niedt, Jr. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. in the Calvary United Methodist Church, 151 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA 18472 with Pastor Wendy D’Agostino officiating. Immediately following the church service on Thursday, friends and family are invited to a gathering in the church basement. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s memory to Wayne Memorial Hospital, 601 Park Street, Honesdale, PA 18431.
