Obituary of Joseph A. Maciejewski

Joseph “Joe” Maciejewski, age 71 of Honesdale, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by his immediate family on the evening of October 10, 2022. He is survived by his wife Sandra Maciejewski. Joe and Sandra would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on October 22, 2022. Born on March 27, 1951 in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late John Maciejewski, Sr. and the late Stasia Maciejewski. In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by his son John Maciejewski, wife Gwendolyn, and their sons Cody and Jack, and his daughter Joanne Falcone, husband Thomas, and their son Anthony, and his beloved yellow lab Sully. He is also survived by brother John Maciejewski, Jr. and wife Anita, sister Anastasia Pascoe and husband Clem, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his sister Cynthia Maciejewski, and his brother Kenneth Maciejewski. Joe made his career as a civilian leader in the federal government, ascending to Director of Industrial Risk Management at the Tobyhanna Army Depot prior to his retirement in 2013 after 37 years of service. Outside of work he was a dedicated family man, known for his kindness and generosity. He loved gardening, cooking, traveling to the Caribbean, and most of all, spending time with his family. Visitation will be on Friday, October 14, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the Howell Family Funeral Home, Inc., Jenkins-Howell Chapel, 269 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA 18472, Edward R. Howell, Funeral Director. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 150 Terrace Street, Honesdale, PA. All attending are asked to go directly to the church. Directly following mass, interment services will be held at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, 951 Price St. Dickson City, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dessin Animal Shelter, 138 Miller Drive, Honesdale, PA 18431.
