Obituary of Harriet Jarusik

Harriet Jarusik, 87, of Blakely, formerly of Waymart, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 7, 2017 at Carbondale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jarusik.

Born December 21, 1929 in Bayonne, New Jersey she was the daughter of the late William and Hedwig (Lojewski) Czyspak.

Harriet was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Waymart and for many years taught CCD at the church.   She was a Teacher’s Aide for the Western Wayne School District and also worked as a seamstress.  Harriet enjoyed the farm on which she and her husband worked together for many years.

Harriet was preceded in death by two brothers:  Edward and Theodore.

Sincere gratitude is expressed to the staff at Carbondale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and Traditional Home Health and Hospice.

The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, May 11 at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 242 Carbondale Road, Waymart with Rev. Joseph Sitko and Monsignor Michael Delaney officiating.

Viewing will be Thursday morning from 9:30 -10:00 A.M. at Jenkins Funeral Home-Edward Howell, Funeral Director, 269 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA 18472.

Interment will be Thursday in The Waymart Cemetery at Canaan Corners.
