Obituary of Earl Adams

Earl D. Adams, 88, of Honesdale, died on Thursday, August 31, 2017. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret, on April 23, 2015.

Earl was a great and loving father. He is survived by his daughter Laurie Horton and her husband Ray of West Palm Beach, FL; his daughter Cindy Wedin and her husband Keith of Honesdale, PA; and his daughter Doreen Mahan and her husband Rory of Waymart, PA; and step-son Chris Morehouse of Las Vegas, NV.

He was preceded in death by his son Roger Adams formerly of Scranton, PA.

Also surviving are his beloved grandchildren Gary II, Carmine, Gloria, Kimberly and her husband Erik, Patrick and his wife, Jenny, Ashleigh, Peter, Rory, Jr. and Katie. He was the proud great grandfather of Olivia Grace, Nora Jane, Julian Alexander, Austin Michael, and Jayce Keith. He is also survived by brothers, John Adams, Cahokia, IL, Wint Adams, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

Earl was born on January 30, 1929 in Montauk, Missouri, to parents William and Zetta Adams. He
was a World War II Veteran, serving in Guam with the U.S. Army Signal Corps.

Earl was a social, active man who was deeply involved in the Free and Accepted Masons for the
majority of his life. He was a 32nd degree past Master Mason in good standing of the Lodge Council Chapter Consistory Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Rockville Centre. His original lodge was Connetquot Lodge No. 838, and he was currently a member of Delaware Lodge No. 561, serving as their Chaplain. He was awarded the Dedicated Service Award and was a past Assistant Grand Lecturer. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with his family. Earl will be deeply missed.

His family and friends will always remember him as a dependable, loving, and generous man.

A Masonic service is scheduled for Tuesday, September 5th at 2:00 PM at Jenkins Funeral Home - Edward Howell, Funeral Director, 269 Belmont Street, Waymart. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Earl’s life.

Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
