Obituary of Jacob H. Overholt

Mr. Jacob Howard Overholt, born 14 October 1919, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2017 at the home of his son in Walnutport PA surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Overholt earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from Lafayette College and served as an Officer in the US Army during WWII and Korea. He worked as a lead engineer on the Army’s first computer projects, and his post-war projects include the first overseas telephone cable system, the Telstar Project, and transistor miniaturization.

Mr. Overholt is preceded in death by Mrs. Mary Overholt, wife of 50 years.

Mr. Overholt’s survivors include three married sons and one daughter, Lance and Beverly Overholt, Danville, PA, William and Carol Overholt, Walnutport, PA, Dwight and Beverly Overholt, Cherryville, PA and Diane Overholt, Huntsville, AL, and 8 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, 4 great grandsons and 7 great granddaughters.
