Obituary of Cathy Gebert

Cathy J. Gebert, 48, of Waymart passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 24, 2018 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.  She is survived by her husband, Charlie Gebert Jr. They were married on July 20, 1991.

Born March 22, 1969 in Honesdale, she was the daughter of Katica “Cathy” (Balton) Christopher and her husband Bill of Lake Ariel, and the late John A. Zawisky.

Cathy graduated from Western Wayne High School, Class of 1987.  For many years she worked for Wayne County Children and Youth Services before serving as a Human Resource Specialist at United States Penitentiary Canaan.  Cathy enjoyed going to concerts, traveling on wine tours, and her dogs.  Most of all Cathy loved her family and will be remembered as a loving and dedicated wife and mother.  She will be greatly missed.

Cathy is also survived a daughter, Danielle Gebert of Waymart; a brother, John Zawisky and his wife Leah of Waymart; mother and father-in-law, Charlie and Millie Gebert of Waymart; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Cathy's memory to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
