Obituary of Allan Wickle

Allan Wickle, 71, of Prompton, Texas Township died unexpectedly, of natural causes on Friday evening, November 23, 2018.

Born February 24, 1947 in Passaic, New Jersey he was the son of the late Robert and Bertha (Mokray) Wickle.

Allan moved with his family from Clifton, NJ to Prompton in 1964 when he was 17 years old.  For several years he was a dairy farmer; he also drove a milk truck, hauling milk for many local farms.  After closing his dairy operation, Allan established AW Auto Wrecking on the farm and continued to own and operate the business until his death.  For a time, he was also a self-employed excavator.  In the late 1990’s, Allan decided to run for public office and was elected a Texas Township Supervisor, a position to which he was re-elected for several terms for the remainder of his life.  Allan was a proud member of the Salem Lodge F&AM #330 in Hamlin where he was a Past Master and Trustee.  He was involved in various local masonic events and charities and could often be found at a Lodge meeting in several local towns. Allan served his country in the United States National Guard.  He was an avid tractor collector, and dearly loved his companion dog, Hannah.

He is survived by a son, Scott Pennay of Prompton and his companion Lisa Watson; a daughter, Shannon Glosenger and her husband Ron of Hawley; two brothers, Jack Wickle of Dyberry and Ronald Wickle and his wife Donna of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a grandson, Remington; and two granddaughters, Grace and Emma, and several nieces and nephews.

All are welcome to attend the Masonic Funeral Service on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. in the Jenkins-Howell Funeral Home, Inc. Edward Howell, Funeral Director, 269 Belmont St. Waymart, PA 18472.

The Viewing will be on Thursday from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. in the funeral home.

Burial will be private, in Keen Cemetery, Waymart, at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made in Allan’s memory to Salem Lodge #330 P.O. Box 313, Hamlin, PA 18427.
